Venture Well E-Team Grants: Win up to $75,000 for your commercially bound invention and invaluable mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs at VentureWell. Deadline: February 6 2015 & May 8 205

Stage 1: $5,000; 50 teams; 2-day training program

Stage 2: $20,000; 20 teams; one-on-one mentorship

Stage 3: $50,000 investment; 1-3 teams

CLAS Small Research & Travel

The CLAS Small Research and Travel Grant is available to UVa College of Arts and Sciences students who want to conduct or present research or projects outside of the USA. The awards can vary up to $1,500.

Venture Well BME @ UVA Grant

Student grants from $500-$1,000 for projects which intend to advance human health. Teams are encouraged to have an active BME student on their teams, though all health and biomedical projects will be considered. To apply please submit the following to David Chen via e-mail:

Harrison Reseach Awards

The Harrison Undergraduate Research awards 1st, 2nd, 3rd year undergraduates with up to $3,000 for research and projects.

Debut is NIBIB’s Challenge to teams of undergraduate students to design solutions to unmet clinical needs” 1st place wins $20,000 and valuable validation! Submission for 2015 ends on May 29th.

BME Start from Venture Well 05/22/15

BME Start is an undergraduate specific, biomedical invention design competition where you could win up to $10,000! Apply by May 22nd.

To succeed, projects must demonstrate:

  • Technical, economic and regulatory feasibility
  • Contribution to human health and quality of life
  • Technological innovation
  • Potential for commercialization
Improving Hypertension Challenge 10/30/15

ONC seeks to uncover the practices that have used clinical decision support to implement the most successful evidence-based blood pressure treatment protocols. ONC will then further reward organizations that can spread these tools for use by the most providers. Phase 1: up to 4 winners of $5,000 each. Phase 2: $30,000 winner.

BME Idea from VentureWell 04/04/15

The National BME Idea competition offers collegiate biomedical entrepreneurs (undergraduates and graduates) the chance to win up to $10,000 and receive critical, early stage validation of their ideas. Apply by April 4th.

Lemelson MIT Collegiate Prize

Lemelson MIT supports young innovators who develop impactful and original inventions in Health, Consumer Goods, Transportation, and Agriculture developed by student teams (or individuals.) The top invention in each category can win $15,000!
